My First Hours With PoE 2’s New Passive Tree Felt Wild

Jumping into Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids honestly felt like learning the game all over again—and I mean that in the best possible way. The massive passive tree overhaul instantly stood out, especially with the addition of 200+ new nodes that clearly lean into Druid shapeshifting builds.

What surprised me most wasn’t just the number of nodes, but how intentional they feel. Nodes tied to transformation skills are no longer scattered randomly. Instead, you can actually plan around forms like bear or wolf without feeling punished for committing too early. It’s smoother, more readable, and much less intimidating than older versions of the tree.

Another big change I noticed right away was how stats like curse area and attack speed have been repositioned. Curse-focused setups feel more flexible now, especially for hybrid builds that don’t want to go all-in on spellcasting. Attack speed nodes, on the other hand, are better balanced—less extreme spikes, more consistent progression.

From a progression standpoint, this update feels friendlier without being dumbed down. You still need to think, but you’re not fighting the tree anymore. That’s a huge win for long-term play.

As someone who doesn’t always have endless hours to grind, I also noticed more players discussing efficient gearing paths early on. Communities around services like u 4 g m are popping up more often in discussions—not in a pushy way, but as a resource for players trying to keep up with fast-moving leagues.
